When I head to Elements I immediately start thinking of how much I will enjoy the weather change and a chance to be in the country. There are so many local places that I frequent that really make my time in the Russian River area special. So when friends or guests ask I have to admit I have my favorites.
I look forward this summer to catching a movie at the Rio. It will be the same; they will still have the best candy selection and free blankets for the cool evenings. But it will have also caught up to the digital age.
One of the things I enjoy about hosting guests at Elements is helping with suggestions. Although I usually think of going to Elements to relax; there is an amazing amount of things to see and do. I thought the suggestions I recently sent might be useful to other guests.
And its something I have learned in the Redwoods; to take that time to have those breaks. (The chores will wait>)
There is always something do when you are staying up at the Russian River. Although I am always tempted to do nothing but enjoy the sunshine and relax and read in the shade under a redwood; there is always temptation in the neighborhood.
Even though it was like swimming upstream with the salmon, as we struggled with the crowds; it was an event I will always remember. The fireworks were amazing, and I got to see San Francisco acting like a little town.
Its Spring, and a great time for a getaway from the city.
Its like a special gift of winter. And as the dog looses himself, swims and drags around old sticks, its enough to convince you to the old adage about the simple things.
